I am now stockpiling the freezer (a pastry chef’s BEST tool) with TONS of baked goods for Halloween, b-day parties & Election Day bake sale. I goofed: misread my own notes re: yield for BLACK MIDNIGHT CUPCAKES. Ended up making 7 doz! Will have PLENTY for son’s b-day parties! Baking 6 doz cut-out cookies from scratch for kids’ school Halloween parties. Either I’m SuperMom, or I’m crazy!! Made pumpkin creme brulee for Happy Hour tonight. Time to get out the blowtorch!! HB brought home Graeter’s “Fantasy Pie” last night: choc ice cream w/choc ganache chunks with bittersweet choc topping & whipped cream. Mmmm Mmmmm…..pumpkin ice cream w/ pecans at Handel’s. Tasty! Makes me want to make prailine pecan pumpkin cheesecake. @FoodieTot Ooooh, I’m jealous! I still miss Del Ray & all the fab food & fun there. Glad you enjoyed it! Trying to replicate a recipe from my old bakery: “sweet dream” cookies– choc chip dough w/ ginger & rolled in powered sugar. |
